LOS ANGELES (June 2024) – Piper Meets a Psychopath, Section 3 Films’ quirky horror-comedy written by Nicole Elliott, played to a packed audience at Dances With Films hosted by the historic TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

Produced by Benjamin Hatmaker and directed by AJ Martinson, the film stars Nicole Elliott, Shane Rogers, Eliot, and Emily Gateley, with production design by Jacob Painter, visual effects by Raul Toledo, and camera by RJ Bieti.

Described as “a colorful, pointed, gloriously goofy comedic thriller” by Justin Harrison of the Hyperreal Film Club, Piper is sure to delight audiences as it makes its way onto streaming platforms.

Synopsis:
Piper the People Pleaser is having a blast bopping around town on her no-consequences “Door Driver” delivery job until she crosses paths with a psychopath who just might be using her for nefarious errands in his evil business. Can Piper navigate this dangerous situation without sacrificing her hella chill lifestyle?

LOS ANGELES (Feb 12, 2023) – “Couldn’t Wait”, Section 3 Films collaboration with RokitPig heads to film festivals this month, picked up by both the Santa Fe Film Festival and the Hollywood Reel Independent Festival.

The film will play at the LA Live Regal Cinema on March 1 at 7:15pm in the HRIFF dramatic shorts block and also on Feb 19 at the New Mexico History Museum in Santa Fe.

The film stars acclaimed actor Jerry Angelo and rising star Aubrey Trujillo along with the talented Donnie Blankenship and power house Lori Dewitt.

Directed by Section 3 Films’ AJ Martinson and featuring visuals by cinematographer Nate Weaver this quirky dramedy pulls you into the recording studio to show you how difficult it can be to make art under pressure.

 

LOS ANGELES (August 1, 2022) – Award winning director AJ Martinson III has been attached to direct the upcoming horror film “The Cold Quiet” which is currently in pre-production. Created by Executive Producer Stephen Lemieux, this 1800s psychological thriller will delve into the depths of life on the bleeding edge of the Alaskan frontier during the early 1800s.

LOS ANGELES (July 1, 2020) – A US release date of November 11^th 2021 has been announced for indie documentary The End of Blindness.

Passion River will be handling the VOD, DVD and TV releases for the feature documentary from Section 3 Films.

In his award winning feature documentary debut, AJ Maritnson III chronicles the work of Dr. Samuel Bora, the only ophthalmologist for 3 million people in rural Ethiopia. Dedicating his life to serving the poor Dr. Samuel performs up to 60 cataract surgeries a day for those in need.

The film will be available on streaming platforms including iTunes, AppleTV and Amazon Prime.

The End of Blindness wins big at the 2020 Docs Without Borders Film Festival – earning the esteemed “Best of Festival” award.

LOS ANGELES (July 1, 2018) – A US release date of August 7^th has been announced for action thriller BLACKMARK.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will be handling the VOD, DVD and TV releases for the feature from Archstone Distribution.

In the debut feature from writer/director AJ Martinson III, an American military industrialist and a Soviet nuclear commander race against the clock to prevent a nation from nuclear annihilation. Unbeknownst to them the threat is just the beginning of an even bigger crisis – one that will change the course of history forever. Gabrielle Magpantay and AJ Martinson produced the film, whose cast includes Kaiwi Lyman (sleeper hit “Den of Thieves”), Jeff Hatch (“Borderland”) and Corey MacIntosh.

Three years after completing the first draft of the script, Blackmark – A Cold War Spy thriller held it’s premiere screening at the Arclight in Pasadena to a packed house.

There, an audience of nearly 200 people gathered to watch the first public screening of AJ Martinson’s directorial debut.

A strong contingent from the Cast and Crew came out to support the film including stars Kaiwi Lyman, Jeff Hatch and Corey MacIntosh (pictured above).

Bleiberg Entertainment is set to release the film in conjunction with Sony pictures early next year.

Cannes Film Festival, 2017 – Section 3 Film’s action spy thriller, Blackmark, was featured as part of Bleiberg Entertainment’s 2017 sales line up at the Cannes market.

Blackmark’s Producer, Writer and Director AJ Martinson got the extraordinary opportunity to attend the world famous film festival and watched as Blackmark was around the world.

Currently over five territories have purchased the film including the UK, Japan, France, Germany and Brazil.
