In 1963, military industrialist Arthur Blackmark and a Soviet commander must race against the clock to stop an international nuclear incident which threatens to fire up the Cold War and end the world.
Written and Directed by AJ Martinson III, Blackmark is Section 3 Film’s debut feature film. With a cast and crew of over 90 individuals, 21 year old AJ and 19 year old Producer Gabrielle Magpantay brought their vision of a secret missile crisis to life over the course of two years.
In August of 2014, AJ completed the first draft of the script and immediately began pre-production, spending the next eight months casting, constructing sets, hiring crew, personally sourcing and commissioning props and overseeing every aspect of the production.
The first day of production was on Easter Sunday, 2015 in Pasadena and lasted for twenty two days.
After a rigorous post production process including a full re-edit of the film and multiple color passes, the film was ready for release!
It had it’s cast and crew premiere at the Arclight Cinema in Pasadena to a packed theater.
It was picked up by Sales Agent Bleiberg Entertainment for international sales and was acquired by Sony Pictures for domestic release.
